Love at first sight...
Fort Collins, CO
One fall afternoon Rollie was walking to his next class at Colorado State University and happened to glance at a beautiful girl from a distance. Nina was running late to her class, quickly looked up and saw Rollie. Little did they know that when the moment they locked eyes both would fall in love and marry each other 11 years later. Soon after their encounter, Nina and Rollie kept running into each other and discovered they worked next to each other. Even when Nina forgot Rollie’s name, that didn't stop him from pursuing the girl of his dreams and asking her out on a date. She told him that she was too busy with school and had some tests coming up. He wagered that if she passed with a B or higher, that he would love to take her out for dinner. Nina loving a challenge accepted his wager and luckily for him, she passed her class. Their first date was at a small sushi restaurant in Fort Collins. And the rest is history.
The proposal...
December 24, 2017 | Union Station in Denver, CO
Rollie’s proposal was a total romantic surprise for Nina. It was on Christmas Eve when Rollie reserved a room at The Crawford Hotel in Union Station to celebrate their 11th anniversary. Nina was exuberant and elated with holiday cheer. Rollie knew that Union Station was the perfect place to purpose, because it was Nina’s favorite place in Denver and even more beautiful with Christmas décor and festivities. On the night of the proposal, Nina was getting ready for dinner in their room when Rollie told her to meet him downstairs with their dog Daisy to take photos by the Christmas tree in the hotel lobby. After getting out of the elevator, the lobby was busy and crowded with people when Nina noticed something strange from the corner of her eye, a very suspicious person taking photos. Nina shrugged it off and met Rollie by the tree. Rollie acting like his normal and cool self, started to talk about their relationship. Then something really amazing happened, time started to slowly wind down for Nina; the busy lobby all the sudden stood quiet and still when Nina saw Rollie (the love of her life) got down on one knee and proposed to her. The initial shock of the proposal took Nina by surprise. What seemed like forever to respond, Nina basking in the moment and trying to not lose it, she tearfully filled with joy said yes! The crowd in the lobby roared with cheer, clapped and congratulated the happy couple at the Union Station. The funny looking person taking the photos, turned out to be Deonna, Rollie's sister taking photos of the entire proposal and everyone enjoyed a good laugh. Rollie’s proposal at Union Station was truly an unforgettable story and magical moment of sheer bliss, happiness and love.
